Valencia hosts Barcelona
Valencia hosts Barcelona at the Estadio Mestalla in a very intriguing clash from the 21th round of Spanish La Liga. Los Che will try to move closer to the Top 4, while Barca will play to keep their position as leader in the league.
After their humilating 1-4 defeat against Mallorca, Valencia fell to 7th place in the standings with 31 points won so far. Right now the club is four points behind the Top 4, so they undestand how important it is to forget this result in Palma and try again to win their next game.
Before this derby with Barcelona on Saturday, Albert Celades’ team successfully progressed in Copa del Rey. Valencia visited UD Logrones and thanks to a winning goal from Maxi Gomez, reached the next round of the competition.

Barcelona are travelling to the Mestalla just few days after a very difficult 2-1 win against Ibiza in Copa del Rey. The manager Quique Setien gave rest to Lionel Messi and few other key players and it was far from easy for his team to progress in the competition. The game was about to go to extra time, but Antoine Griezmann saved Barca with his second goal in the game.
Now we can say that Quique Setien is facing his first real test since his arrival at the club. In his debut Setien led Barcelona to a 1-0 win over Granada at the Camp Nou when Leo Messi saved the Catalans with a late winner. For the match at the Mestalla Barca will be without the injured Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele. This means that the young Ansu Fati could be in contention for another start with the blaugrana shirt.
We are pretty sure that it’s going to be an amazing clash between Valencia and Barcelona on Saturday. These two teams know how to score goals, so it could be a gem of a game.
