Tottenham Hotspur – Brentford

Tottenham Hotspur hosts Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a 1/2-final game from the Carabao Cup. Let’s take a look at it in this preview of the match.

Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham reached the 1/2-finals of the competitions after winning against Stoke City during the 1/4-finals. Spurs faced the Potters at the bet365 Stadium and celebrated convincing 3-1 win. Gareth Bale opened the score for the visitors while Ben Davies and Harry Kane finished the job. It was a clean job by the Premier League side.

Few days ago Tottenham celebrated a first win for 2021. The Londoners hosted Leeds United at home and got a clean 3-0 win against Marcelo Bielsa’s team. The “usual suspects” Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min scored in the first half while Toby Alderweireld scored the third one after the halftime break.

Spurs are unbeaten since their home defeat against Leicester City in the Premier League. This makes three games in a row without a loss.

Brentford are currently playing in the Championship – the second tier of English football. They reached the 1/2-finals of the Carabao Cup after a 1-0 win against Newcastle United in the 1/4-finals. Joshua Pelenda Dasilva scored the only goal in the game against the Magpies.

This win against Newcastle will give Brentford some confidence, but it’s a different deal here – Tottenham Hotspur are a stronger side than the Magpies and they are playing at home. Brentford are obviously the underdogs here – there’s no doubt about that.

That’s our preview for the Carabao Cup 1/2-finals game between Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the English capital. This is Tottenham’s game to lose – they are the favourites here, but let’s see if they can show it on the pitch.
