Roma – Liverpool

Roma against Liverpool. One of these two teams will reach the Champions League final in Kiev. And after a 5-2 win in the first leg, Liverpool are favourites to do it. But one thing is for sure – Roma won’t give up without a fight at the Olimpico.

If Roma’s manager Eusebio Di Francesco remains true to his principles, once again we shall see Roma line-up in a 3-4-3 formation. Alisson will start at goal, while Juan Jesus, Manolas and Fazio are expected to start in defense. In midfield, if they are healthy, we shall see De Rossi and Strootman, while Kolarov and Florenzi shall start on the two flanks. Edin Dzeko will lead the attack, while Nainggolan and Under will support him.

Liverpool usually use a 4-3-3 formation. Jurgen Klopp uses his countryman Loris Karius at goal, while Robertson, Van Dijk, Lovren and Alexander-Arnold are expected to start in defense. James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Oxlade-Chamberlain usually start in midfield, but if Oxlade-Chamberlain is not healthy, he’s going to get replaced by Wijnaldum. Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are the three stars in Liverpool’s attack line.

Shutting down Liverpool’s forwards is going to be crucial for Roma’s chances. In the first leg Salah, Firmino and Sane scored all of the five goals in the game for the Reds. They showed their power in attack and for Roma it’s going to be very difficult to keep a clean sheet. And in same time they must do it, because they have a lot of catching up to do.

For Liverpool it’s clear – they will be careful in defense and they will use their great counter-attacking football in offense. They know that if they break Roma’s defense even once, most likely it’s going to be game over.
