Real Madrid welcomes Real Betis

Real Madrid welcomes Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu in a game from the 11th round of La Liga. Depending on what Barcelona do against Levante, a win here could allow Los Blancos to top the league again.

Right now Real Madrid are second in La Liga with 21 points, but only a point behind the champion and current leader Barcelona. Alongside Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid are the team with the less amount of losses in the league so far – just one. This happened recently when Zinedine Zidane’s boys surprisingly lost their visit to the newcomer Mallorca.

Real Madrid are entering this game in a good mood, because on Wednesday they scored five goals during the home game against Leganes. Los Blancos won this fixture with 5-0 and brought some joy to the Bernabeu. The young Brazilian striker Rodrygo scored his second goal in the Spanish league, while Toni Kroos, Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema also scored. One of the big news for the day was Luka Jovic’ first goal with the white shirt. The Serbian striker was bought during the summer, but so far he’s rarely starting for his new team.

Real Betis are having a difficult season so far. Right now Los Verdiblancos are 15th in the league with 12 points won so far, winning just three games since the beginning of the campaign. Betis are usually aiming much higher, so right now they can’t be satisfied with their performance.

In the previous round Betis finally won again. Rubi’s team hosted Celta and achieved a 2-1 win at the Benito Villamarin. Emerson and Nabil Fekir scored for the hosts.

Betis found a way to start winning again, but at the Bernabeu it’s going to be hard for them against Real Madrid. Currently Los Blancos are showing a good face, if we forget about their loss in Mallorca for a second. Zidane’s boys are the favourites here.
