Napoli – Roma
Napoli faces Roma at the Stadio San Paolo in a match from the 9th round of the Serie A. For the hosts this is going to be a first match in the Calcio since the death of the club legend Diego Maradona. Let’s preview it
Napoli are approaching the 9th round 6th place in the Serie A standings. The Azzurri started well the new season, but in their last three matches they suffered two defeats – against Sassuolo and AC Milan. Both of them – at home.
Home form is something the manager Gennaro Gattuso must try to fix now. Napoli are just two points behind the 4th Juventus and Top 4, but they have to stabilize their performance. Napoli must get to their best when they were rarely making any mistakes.
During the week Napoli had a game in Europa League as well. The Italian club hosted Rijeka at the San Paolo and achieved a 2-0 win. Matteo Politano and Hirving Lozano scored the two goals. Gattuso made some rotations, so Lozano, Insigne and Mertens started the game from the bench.
Roma are doing well since the start of the season. The Wolves are currently third in the standings with 17 points and they are almost perfect lately – four wins and one draw in their last five league games. The Wolves have lost just one time since the start of the season – against Hellas Verona in September.
Yesterday Roma had a game in Europa League as well. Paulo Fonseca’s team traveled to Romania to face CFR Cluj and got a 2-0 win. Cluj’s Debeljuh scored himself an own goal while Jordan Veretout added one more for Roma from a penalty kick.
