Manchester United – Everton
Manchester United hosts Everton in a game from the fifth round of the English Premier League.
The Red Devils lost the first place in the league, after Manchester City scored six goals against Watford on Saturday. But now United have the chance to get even with City once again, if they successfully beat Everton at home.
After winning their first three games for the new season, Manchester United lost two points during the draw with Stoke City away from home. Now they will try to get back on the winning way.
During the week United returned to the Champions League, being merciless against Basel at home.
As for Everton, Ronald Koeman’s team didn’t start the new season very good. Everton won their first game for the campaign, but in the next three they lost twice and won just one point. Right now they are 17th in the league standings with just 4 points won so far. Everton really need points right now and they need it as fast as possible.
During the week Everton travelled to Italy to meet Atalanta in the Europa League, but the match didn’t end very well for the English team – 3-0 for the Italians. It was just another sign that there’s something wrong in Everton’s team at the moment. Can Ronald Koeman find a solution for the match against Manchester United?
United’s manager Jose Mourinho will be without the injured Paul Pogba, Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. These three players are still unavaliable for pick. It will be interesting to see how Everton’s former striker Romelu Lukaku will do in this match.
As for Everton, Ronald Koeman will be without the injured Ross Barkley, Ramiro Mori and Yannick Bolasie. James McCarthy is still doubtful with a knee injury, but the good news come from the recovery of Seamus Coleman.
