Leipzig – Werder Bremen
Despite of being without a win in their last three games and being overtaken by Bayern Munich as leaders, RB Leipzig are still in the title race. After all, Julian Nagelsmann’s team is just one point behind the current champion, so everything is possible until the end of the season. The Red Bulls currently have 42 points and a record of 12 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats. They are actually the team with the less amount of losses in the league.
Last week RB Leipzig visited Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena and they can be happy with their performance, because they didn’t suffer a defeat. The game in the Bavarian capital ended with a 0-0 draw, which was kind of strategic result for the Red Bulls. Now they can continue to pressure the champion fro just one point behind.
RB Leipzig’s problems are related to the team’s unconvincing form lately. Julian Nagelsmann’s team is without a win in its last four matches in all competitions. This is certainly not a form which would lead them to the title.
Werder Bremen are in a deep trouble right now. They are 17th in the league and currently in the relegation zone, having won just 17 points so far. It’s been awhile since Werder played in the 2. Bundesliga, but if the club don’t improve, they could find themselves there again.
Last week Werder suffered a third consecutive loss in the league. Florian Kohfeldt’s team hosted Union Berlin at the Weserstadion, but conceded a 0-2 loss.
That’s a pretty important game for both RB Leipzig and Werder Bremen. The hosts are trying to win the title for a first time in their history, but Werder are fighting for survival here.
