Lazio – Genoa

We are heading to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, because Lazio welcomes Genoa in a match from the sixth round of the Serie A.

Lazio are really inconsistent since the start of the new season. Just as they were in the previous one. Maybe it was a mistake that the club gave another chance to the manager Simone Inzaghi after a dissapointing campaign? We shall wait and see if this is the case.

But the facts are clear – after five rounds played, Lazio are currently 9th in the standings with 7 points won. Few days ago the Eagles suffered their second defeat since the start of the season. They travelled to Milan to face Inter and suffered a 0-1 defeat at the San Siro. Danilo D’Ambrosio scored the only goal in the game before the halftime break.

For Lazio this match against Genoa is a great chance to bounce back a little bit and win some points. One thing is for sure – the fans at the Olimpico will help.

Genoa have won just one point in their last three matches. Il Griffoni are 17th in the league with only five points won so far and being only one point above Udinese and the dangeorus zone. It will help if they manage to win some points in the next few games they have. But clearly Aurelio Andreazzoli’s team is having some problems right now.

In the last round Genoa won a point at least. Il Griffoni hosted Bologna at the Luigi Ferraris and secured a point after a 0-0 draw. Because of Bologna’s better performance since the start of the campaign, the hosts were the underdog in this case. They had a little bit of luck as well, because at the end of the game Nicola Sansone missed a penalty kick for Bologna.

Can Lazio enter a better run of results, winning against Genoa at the Olimpico? We think they can, but let’s see if they are actually going to do it.
