England – Germany
It looks like the right time to offer you a preview of the exciting fixture between England and Germany from the Euro 2020 1/8-finals. It’s a true football classic, so let’s take a look at it.
England reached the 1/8-finals of the European Championship after two wins and one draw in their group. The Three Lions achieved wins over Croatia and the Czech Republic, while they also made a 0-0 draw against Scotland. Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling scored both goals for the English side so far. Some fans are worried though – their team scored just two times in three matches so far. On the positive note England kept three clean sheets.
The manager Gareth Southgate made some brave decisions against the Czech Republic as he took Phil Foden and Mason Mount out of the starting eleven. Southgate replaced them with Jack Grealish and Bakayo Saka. Meanwhile players like Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho still hope to get a starting place in the team.
Germany had a shaky performance in the group stage, but the four points they managed to win were enough for them to progress. The Mannschaft lost its first game against France, but after this they won against Portugal and made a draw with Hungary. It’s not the most convincing performance, but maybe they will get better during the eliminations?
Joachim Low’s team surely disappointed the fans against Hungary. The Germans were very close to losing this match, but Leon Goretzka saved the Mannschaft with an equalising goal in the 84th minute. Kai Havertz scored for Germany before him.
That’s the preview we can give you for the Euro 2020 1/8-finals clash between England and Germany at the Wembley. It’s always exciting when these two teams face each other. We are ready for another football classic and we hope to get it!
