Eintracht – RB Leipzig

Eintracht Frankfurt is ending its Bundesliga season with a home game against the biggest sensation of the year RB Leipzig. The game will be played on Sunday afternoon at the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt.

It was an average season for the home team. Eintracht are currently 11th in the league standings. They could move one or two places higher in the last round, but it also depends on other results from the same day.

As for RB Leipzig, they are clearly the biggest surprise of the season. After coming from the lower division of German football, RB Leipzig managed to finish second in the league and reach a historical first qualification for the Champions League. It’s really a great achievement for them.

There was a time when RB Leipzig were even leading the table, but in the end of the day, Bayern’s class and experience allowed them to occupy the first place and win the title for a 5th time in a row.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be without many of its players for the last match of the season. Ante Rebic is suspended for the game, while Marc Stendera, Marius Wolf, Omar Mascarell, Jesús Vallejo and Makoto Hasebe are all injured. Talb Tawatha, Branimir Hrgota, Andersson Ordóñez, Slobodan Medojevic and Soares de Oliveira Anderson are all under a question for this clash.

RB Leipzig could be without the services of Willi Orban and Lukas Klostermann, who are still recovering. It’s almost sure that they will miss the game, as it doesn’t hold any real meaning for the team. They already know that they are going to finish 2nd in the final standings.

This is a possibility for RB Leipzig to finish in a great way a great season. They can already start thinking about the Champions League, but they should first end this season.
