Celta – Barcelona
Celta hosts Barcelona at the Balaidos in a game from the 4th round of La Liga. For the visiting team it’s going to be just a second one from the start of the season. Let’s take a look at it right now, are you with us?
Celta are unbeaten in the first three rounds of La Liga. Oscar Garcia’s team won once against Valencia and made two draws. Right now they are 4th in the standings with 5 points won – just one behind the leaders Real Betis and Granada.
In their last game Celta made their second draw for the season. The club from Vigo paid a visit to Real Valladolid, but the game at the Jose Zorrilla ended without any of the two teams winning it – 1-1. Iago Aspas scored an opener for Celta while Sergi Guardiola equalised for the hosts.
Barcelona had a brilliant start of their new era under Ronald Koeman. The Catalans hosted Villarreal and celebrated an amazing 4-0 win. They scored all of the four goals in the first half of the game. Ansu Fati scored a brace while Lionel Messi scored a penalty kick. Villarreal’s Pau Torres scored himself an own goal.
Just as expected Ronald Koeman put his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation on the pitch. Ansu, Messi and Griezmann started in attack while Coutinho was in the role of a “10”. In the second half Barca lowered the tempo a little bit, but it was understandable – they have already won the game.
That’s our preview for the La Liga game between Celta and Barcelona at the Balaidos on Thursday. Because of Barca’s performance against Villarreal, Celta have all reasons to feel worried. We thought Los Cules are in a crisis, but right now they are looking really good. Let’s see if they can keep this level in the next few weeks or months, too.
