Eintracht Frankfurt – Arsenal

In one of the most interesting Europa League games for the day, Eintracht Frankfurt welcomes Arsenal at the Commerzbank-Arena in a clash from Group F of the competition.

Last season both of these two teams did very well in the competition. Eintracht reached the semi-finals of Europa League, while Arsenal reached the final, but they suffered a defeat against Chelsea. Can they repeat their performance this season as well?

Eintracht Frankfurt had to participate in the playoffs in order to reach the group stage. The German side faced the French team Strasbourg and suffered a loss in the first game away from home. But in Frankfurt Eintracht showed great football and eliminated Strasbourg after a convincing 3-0 win.

Few days ago Eintracht suffered their first Bundesliga loss for the season, though. Adi Hutter’s boys visited Augsburg at the WWK Arena and got beaten with 1-2. Goncalo Paciencia scored Eintracht’s only goal in the game, but before this Augsburg managed to score twice.

Arsenal enjoyed the privilege to qualify directly for the Europa League’s group stage, so for them this is going to be a first European challenge for the new season.

In the Premier League the Gunners are not as convincing as they hoped to be. At this moment Unai Emery’s team is 7th in the standings with 8 points won, but already 7 points behind the leader Liverpool.

In their last two games in the league Arsenal are without a win, acquiring just two points. This once again led to some pressure in the dressing room and among the fans. In their last game the Gunners made two serious mistakes in defence, which led to losing two points during the 2-2 draw with Watford.

We think that Eintracht Frankfurt and Arsenal will offer us a pretty good game in Europa League on Thursday. Be sure to watch.
